Maeve is a reminder that every woodworker knows well - with a little patience, every piece of scrap can find a special purpose. The pine tray sides were cut for a continuous grain effect from a single strip of pine. That strip was sitting in the scrap bin for me one day and while I wasn't sure at the time how I'd use it, it was interesting enough to know it still had life.
The tray bottom is a little exploration in symmetry as the bookmatched piece mirrors itself on both cross dimensions out from the middle. Maeve is a cute little piece to add some bright rustic pop to any space.
